HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN CROCHET BRAIDS BY ANDRELLA'S DIY FASHION

I am really sorry i can't do a video tutorial on how this works but i promise to post one when i can so i want to give you the guidelines on how to make your own crochet braids with normal hair attachments  requirements are; Any brand of hair attachment that is convenient for braiding your hair you could get Superstar or Darling Thread and needle.  so these are pretty much all you need here are the steps; So you mustn't get a new attachment if you're already on braids you can make do with your attachment when you let down your braids but if you wish to use the attachment on your hair you have to lose your braids from the tips to the mouth or the root. this step is piratically the most longest step so you have to be patient. When you're done losing your braids from the tips to the root you then reweave it back but not on your hair. i don't know how you wish to do yours but since i had no help i wove back my braids on a needle.  If you're using a new a...

#UnionBank100Bellanaija 100 Ways to Find Love_ At a Wedding

#Day 10 #UnionBank100Bellanaija 100 Ways to Find Love At a Wedding    The resounding rip was like a prick on my skin, I was frozen on my seat. All I could think of was my zipper; it was opened, how could this happen to me. I was endowed with curves so dresses were often lose on my figure but I wanted to be a show stopper at my friend’s wedding in Abuja, so I chose a dress that hugged my curves. I got what I wanted but my dress was an embarrassment right now. Stealing a glance towards my right I noticed the guy seated next to me was fixated on me, although we had been talking since I arrived I was embarrassed,  judging by the look in his eyes he probably knew what was wrong. Feeling for what was left of my zip I found out that my butt was still secure but my back was exposed, I shifted and heard a light rip, Bam! Now my dress was fully open I turned sharply and was met with raised brows and wide eyes. Slowly he took off his blazer and draped it on my shoulders then...

#UnionBank100Bellanaija 100 Ways to Find Love_ When Not Looking For Love

#Day 9  #unionbank100Bellanaija 100 ways to find love When Not Looking for Love    Thanksgiving! Another year was here, I was expected to celebrate with my family at the village house in Anambra state, and the truth was that my mom had been planning this event like an excited bride, to me the fuss was unnecessary. I mentally rolled my eyes and walked to the ticket booth I had taken a leave from work to travel to my hometown and I was doing it with my usual transport company God is Good motors at the Port Harcourt terminal. I just wanted to get the season over with and get back to working I had so many meetings to conclude and an update to make on my fashion line. I mumbled as the bus began transit, not that I didn’t love my family, I just wanted to go back to my comfort zone. I quickly relaxed in my seat and began flipping through my files maybe I could finish some paperwork before I got to Delta. The guy that sat beside me was trying to settle himself in h...

#UnionBank100Bellanaija 100 Ways to Find Love_In The Weirdest Place

Image
#Day 8 100 ways to find love in the weirdest place    I wasn’t going to be sad, the fight I had with Dozie was like a rerun of a movie in my head, you see this thing called Love, it was messed up and a total fluke. I wondered if I was ever going to be find the genuine type. It has been two months now and I was still sore over a nasty ending at least I was better than last month and even better than last week. I passed the lady that sold the tomatoes and paused when I saw the Ugu leaves, I wasn’t being too dramatic but they were practically the freshest things I had seen lately. I chuckled lightly as I moved closer to buy a bundle. I wasn’t blind_ although I had a severe case of myopia_ but I just didn’t know what happened until I was on my butt on the floor in the crowded market place, maybe I was thinking so much. I scrambled to get my foodstuffs back in my black nylon bag when I heard the words “I am sorry” in a deep baritone and dark skinned hands appeared simulta...

#UnionBank100Bellanaija 100 Ways To Find Love_ On A Holiday

Image
This was my story for the just concluded #UnionBank100Bellanaija writing competition #Day 7 100 ways to find love on a holiday    I woke up with a start, slowly I registered my surroundings and relaxed snugly into the bed, I deserved this holiday, it was long overdue and I was happy my boss decided to let me go a vacation to Paris the city of love what I needed but it was sad because I was single so what I planned for the trip of 5 days was going to be fun at least for me. I had room service and after my shower I dug in on my food while reading the morning paper. I wondered how work would be without me but right now with the toasts and waffles I didn’t care less. What I wanted on this trip was to be work free and enjoy the little time I had. I sat on one of those chair that never sit quite well on the pavement and watched the people go about their business, since it was the season of love the splash of red was overwhelming, and it always brought back the fact that...

THE JOB; RANDOM WRITE UP

I have been running series of tests for my word count and summary skills so here's one of my random write ups from my tests.... The rain fell more heavily as she hurdled in the corner of the street although she didn’t care for the muddy splashes today was a bad day.      She wondered if there was a dry and safe place for the night the past days had been hard as the weather changed the bridge was no longer a place for a girl like her, just two nights ago she was harassed and last week she was nearly mauled to death. Looking around she spotted the usual night workers with their umbrellas open… well they liked to be referred to as escorts. She turned her gaze and was met with a dollar thrust her way reaching out she quickly grabbed it and huddled back in her corner of the street. Looking at it she knew it was the only thing she was getting that night but it was just too early to go looking for a bed so she snuggled deeper into the shadows and observed t...

BOOTS AND LEATHER

Image
Going through a series of fashion magazines and online articles I noticed the fact that boots make every outfit for any occasion more stylish.     Are they flats or 6 inches heeled boots? trust me they make a better part of your wardrobe. But then you would really like something chic to go with ‘em boots. That’s where you need leather.  Now I want to draw your fashion radar to the combination of two trends; knee high boots and leather skirts or trousers. These two trends could be worn together to make an exclusive fashion fad because your boots can go anywhere and to any occasion or event. I would try to merge different trends and how a stylish pair of boots can complement them. A pair of boots and a long trench coat is also fashionable but better worn with leather boots Take a black leather skirt , a crop top , a leather jacket and a pair of keen high boots . This outfit could be worn to a party or an evening out...

EATING HEALTHY

The truth about eating and staying healthy is to Eat Right and exercise regularly. People often confuse this ritual of eating clean and healthy for starving the body of certain nutrients. All in the name of Dieting.     Take a picture; I have to get to work by 6am in the morning and I know breakfast is the most important meal for the day, all I have to do is make myself oats or take some slices of bread with my tea but you’ll ask how I will be able to do this   that early the truth is that I wake up by 4:30am drink a glass of water, stretch for 3 to 4 minutes then start my exercise this could involve cardio or lunges since I have to stay inside to get this done. By 5:00am I should be done with that. You see when am done with this morning routine I should be going to poop and this cleans my system for the days food when am done with my shower I could eat that toast or oat meal but before I leave the house I should have some fruit...

THE LIFE OF THE POOR

Image
We all hope for a better place for ourselves, what of the poor?     The rate of world hunger in the economy has reached its peak and yet we still discard certain signs and incidents. But they won't just go away. Hunger is a disaster that has sunk its claws into our society and it’s just a matter of time before the fangs are bared for feasting and feast it will. I couldn't just let my imagination slide when I saw the picture. I wish the rich will put more zeal in providing the facilities and provisions for remote villages and disaster afflicted areas.     The ignorance that is associated with the situation of the hungry citizens has reached a higher level just as the picture depicts. “There is more fruit in a rich man’s shampoo than in a poor man's food".      Many would not love to part with a cent of their money but this is a necessary good that would make you feel better if you know that you are responsible for someone's bre...

AFRICAN STORY; PATIENCE

“We’ll discuss this when we get home” This was how the incident was dismissed but Nnenna couldn’t shake the feeling that he watched her every move at the wedding. The day after the wedding they returned to Lagos. Last year was Kelechi's matriculation into Anambra State University. This year Chukuwdi enrolled in the same school as his elder brother and Nnenna joyfully prepared for it. She made his favorite meal ofe-aku and eba she also made some continental dishes and packed in little plates for his friends she then added bottles of malt and zobo . When she arrived at the school with Obinna who insisted on following her and Onyinye_since he had sacked Emeka, the driver, her husband had discovered the truth concerning the money he accused her of stealing through Emeka’s confession she was greeted warmly by her both brothers and her mother. “ Nwam nwaanyi!. kedu? ” Her mother embraced her warmly then took the child from her. “How is our Onyi,?” she asked the asked the baby ...

AFRICAN STORY; PATIENCE

All these came to a halt when she they went for his friend’s wedding in Abuja Mr. Otumba Anayo was a very close friend and he had stayed with Obinna since they met in FEDERAL GOVEMENT COLLEGE, OWERRI. They have been bosom friend s and helped each other succeed in their business. Nnenna was very familiar with him. He always told her stories about their experiences in school. He often told her how happy he was to have her in the family. When they got to Abuja for the wedding they booked a room in the hotel and made themselves comfortable. Nnenna had just fed Onyiye when Nnenna heard a knock on the door, without waiting for her to answer the door opened to reveal Otumba .she turned and greeted him. “Ah. Otumba!. How are you?” she asked then gestured to the bed “see Oyinye oh! You promised me that you were going to see him since”. “Ahah! You know that I have been busy and this my wedding has taken so much time that’s why I sent you the gifts na!' he said jokingly as h...

COURAGE; AN ARTICLE ON SELF INSPIRATION

Do you believe that you're better and braver than the next person?     I believe what I am and what am yet to be, you too should try and channel your thoughts through positive tunnels. Not everyone is perfect but every human has a unique chance to make a change if not for him but for the community.     Different times I want to give up and forget the latent potential in me but each time I think of what made me start and what made me want what is at the end of it.   Our lives are like projects, each individual his own contractor, engineer and builder. We all decide if we and our potentials work for a better building or rest at just having a hut to sleep in.      I want a large building not only for me but for those in need. We look at ourselves each day and yet wonder why we are given the path in which we tread on. What I was given was a gift which I have to work on, we all have that one golden gift. It is the making of our ...

AFRICAN STORY; PATIENCE

Nnenna was surprised by this change she often expected him to go back to his normal ways when angry but he did not .He took her to church twice a week. One day, when she was in her 6th month he brought home with him boxes of dresses; aso-ike, yards of native wrapper sewn buba and flat slippers,   “All these” he told her.” Are for you, my wife” **** Obinna knew that whatever he did for his wife was not enough to make up for all the episodes she had experienced with him. He was indeed sorry for all that had occurred, he wished he had accepted help long ago but he was working on it now.     Nnenna gave birth to her son on a Tuesday, although she was prepared she still needed Obinna, as usual Obinna had left the house. He always left by 2pm and returned by 4pm. Although she was frightened she definitely pulled through. When they reached the hospital she was quickly taken to the ward where she gave birth. Her chi be blessed for she had given her a male chi...

AFRICAN STORY; PATIENCE CONTINUED

He looked at Nnnena's pale face and looked at Obinna before asking again ‘what happened?' not waiting for an answer he noted that her pulse was weak. He sniffed the scent of fresh blood, quickly he scanned her body, then the room. He turned back to her limp form and raised the wrapper what he found confirmed his suspicion. “I didn’t mean to do it” .her husband said before he could ask again. “You killed the child!” he spoke harshly. “Did you know that? Eh? I have told you to seek help for this your anger issues but you won’t. Now look!” he gestured towards his wife. “there is not much I can do here, make warm water and bathe her then wait for her to recover”. “Make sure you clean her wounds and give her the antibiotics. Cook native soup, ugwu soup and ofe aku , give her enough water her body needs it. It will be long before her womb heals”   He walked to the door, without turning he said “take time Obinna if not she will leave you one day, some wounds don’t ...
