2017 FASHION FADS

Image
FASHION FADS             The trending hastag #017 also has exciting pros and cons of the fashion stores selling out this year, the truth is that all the fashion styles for 2016 won’t get displayed in 2017. Here are the simple trends to watch out for;     STRIPES  are definitely in for the New Year. They never die as they keep evolving in the fashion world stripes with the long lines that make your dress more attractive. You should know that stripes are equivalent to a white vintage shirt. They just never go out of season. Stripe trousers, stripe skirts, stripe gowns and blouses. All these make a perfect wardrobe for the year #017.   This stripe trouser is so chic and will go amazingly well with your halter tops. The banded waist makes it even sexier… crop tops ready…         ART   has always been a part of the fashion trend since patterns existed, the artist sits to design on a canvas but the one that makes this into fashion trends are the real sellers.   On the

EATING HEALTHY

The truth about eating and staying healthy is to Eat Right and exercise regularly. People often confuse this ritual of eating clean and healthy for starving the body of certain nutrients. All in the name of Dieting.     Take a picture; I have to get to work by 6am in the morning and I know breakfast is the most important meal for the day, all I have to do is make myself oats or take some slices of bread with my tea but you’ll ask how I will be able to do this   that early the truth is that I wake up by 4:30am drink a glass of water, stretch for 3 to 4 minutes then start my exercise this could involve cardio or lunges since I have to stay inside to get this done. By 5:00am I should be done with that. You see when am done with this morning routine I should be going to poop and this cleans my system for the days food when am done with my shower I could eat that toast or oat meal but before I leave the house I should have some fruits in my bag.      Now let me analyse this

COLOUR SPLASH PONCHO

Image
Drellapowers worked her magic again as another exclusive #designsbydrellapowers.... So you see this is the zebra print we all have been waiting for, this is my best design for the month, that's after the Ankara bags, chokers and shoes though. The colour pattern is unique as the prints are that of a zebra but the colour mixtures are exotic. I rocked this look to church on Sunday. I know the outfit will be more classic with a lace trimmed skirt but all the same a pair of jeans will do just fine with some stilettoes.

THE LIFE OF THE POOR

Image
We all hope for a better place for ourselves, what of the poor?     The rate of world hunger in the economy has reached its peak and yet we still discard certain signs and incidents. But they won't just go away. Hunger is a disaster that has sunk its claws into our society and it’s just a matter of time before the fangs are bared for feasting and feast it will. I couldn't just let my imagination slide when I saw the picture. I wish the rich will put more zeal in providing the facilities and provisions for remote villages and disaster afflicted areas.     The ignorance that is associated with the situation of the hungry citizens has reached a higher level just as the picture depicts. “There is more fruit in a rich man’s shampoo than in a poor man's food".      Many would not love to part with a cent of their money but this is a necessary good that would make you feel better if you know that you are responsible for someone's breakfast lunch and dinner

AFRICAN STORY; PATIENCE

“We’ll discuss this when we get home” This was how the incident was dismissed but Nnenna couldn’t shake the feeling that he watched her every move at the wedding. The day after the wedding they returned to Lagos. Last year was Kelechi's matriculation into Anambra State University. This year Chukuwdi enrolled in the same school as his elder brother and Nnenna joyfully prepared for it. She made his favorite meal ofe-aku and eba she also made some continental dishes and packed in little plates for his friends she then added bottles of malt and zobo . When she arrived at the school with Obinna who insisted on following her and Onyinye_since he had sacked Emeka, the driver, her husband had discovered the truth concerning the money he accused her of stealing through Emeka’s confession she was greeted warmly by her both brothers and her mother. “ Nwam nwaanyi!. kedu? ” Her mother embraced her warmly then took the child from her. “How is our Onyi,?” she asked the asked the baby

AFRICAN STORY; PATIENCE

All these came to a halt when she they went for his friend’s wedding in Abuja Mr. Otumba Anayo was a very close friend and he had stayed with Obinna since they met in FEDERAL GOVEMENT COLLEGE, OWERRI. They have been bosom friend s and helped each other succeed in their business. Nnenna was very familiar with him. He always told her stories about their experiences in school. He often told her how happy he was to have her in the family. When they got to Abuja for the wedding they booked a room in the hotel and made themselves comfortable. Nnenna had just fed Onyiye when Nnenna heard a knock on the door, without waiting for her to answer the door opened to reveal Otumba .she turned and greeted him. “Ah. Otumba!. How are you?” she asked then gestured to the bed “see Oyinye oh! You promised me that you were going to see him since”. “Ahah! You know that I have been busy and this my wedding has taken so much time that’s why I sent you the gifts na!' he said jokingly as he cam

COURAGE; AN ARTICLE ON SELF INSPIRATION

Do you believe that you're better and braver than the next person?     I believe what I am and what am yet to be, you too should try and channel your thoughts through positive tunnels. Not everyone is perfect but every human has a unique chance to make a change if not for him but for the community.     Different times I want to give up and forget the latent potential in me but each time I think of what made me start and what made me want what is at the end of it.   Our lives are like projects, each individual his own contractor, engineer and builder. We all decide if we and our potentials work for a better building or rest at just having a hut to sleep in.      I want a large building not only for me but for those in need. We look at ourselves each day and yet wonder why we are given the path in which we tread on. What I was given was a gift which I have to work on, we all have that one golden gift. It is the making of our present lives and the drawing of our future a

KIMONO OUTFIT

Image
Hello everyone, this is a new design with the African kimono jacket and skirt paired off with  a pair of stiletto heels. although this can be worn to other functions besides church I was slaying my design as I went to church. this is a test design of the real outfit, follow me up on Instagram @drellapowers to get the price tags for my collection. stay posted for my hot African and official styles.

AFRICAN STORY; PATIENCE

Nnenna was surprised by this change she often expected him to go back to his normal ways when angry but he did not .He took her to church twice a week. One day, when she was in her 6th month he brought home with him boxes of dresses; aso-ike, yards of native wrapper sewn buba and flat slippers,   “All these” he told her.” Are for you, my wife” **** Obinna knew that whatever he did for his wife was not enough to make up for all the episodes she had experienced with him. He was indeed sorry for all that had occurred, he wished he had accepted help long ago but he was working on it now.     Nnenna gave birth to her son on a Tuesday, although she was prepared she still needed Obinna, as usual Obinna had left the house. He always left by 2pm and returned by 4pm. Although she was frightened she definitely pulled through. When they reached the hospital she was quickly taken to the ward where she gave birth. Her chi be blessed for she had given her a male child. Obinna

AFRICAN STORY; PATIENCE CONTINUED

He looked at Nnnena's pale face and looked at Obinna before asking again ‘what happened?' not waiting for an answer he noted that her pulse was weak. He sniffed the scent of fresh blood, quickly he scanned her body, then the room. He turned back to her limp form and raised the wrapper what he found confirmed his suspicion. “I didn’t mean to do it” .her husband said before he could ask again. “You killed the child!” he spoke harshly. “Did you know that? Eh? I have told you to seek help for this your anger issues but you won’t. Now look!” he gestured towards his wife. “there is not much I can do here, make warm water and bathe her then wait for her to recover”. “Make sure you clean her wounds and give her the antibiotics. Cook native soup, ugwu soup and ofe aku , give her enough water her body needs it. It will be long before her womb heals”   He walked to the door, without turning he said “take time Obinna if not she will leave you one day, some wounds don’t h
